2023-2024 Course Scheduling

Course Scheduling

There is a lot to be said when it comes to planning for the next school year. Additionally, the State of Missouri has passed a new law requiring all students, prior to the start of their 9th grade year, to have an Individual Career and Academic Plan. This involves not only picking courses for their next school year, but developing and reviewing their 4-year course plan that supports the post-secondary plans. These plans are then to be reviewed and revised with parents before being sent to the counselor.

The counseling department has prepared some helpful documents to guide you through this process.

The Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) Handout was developed to help students understand what credits are required to graduate, possible tracks they could follow to reach their academic goals, and information related to college and career preparation in a short handout.

The 23-24 Course Guide is a much more in-depth explanation of the requirements a student will be expected to meet to complete their high school education. In this guide you will find course descriptions as well as descriptions of academic programs offered by Grandview R-II and area partners.
