The Grandview R-II Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Leslie Lause as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Lause currently serves as the Associate Superintendent of Gasconade County R-1 in Hermann, a role she has held since 2021. Her extensive educational leadership background also includes serving as Principal at Central Elementary in the Union R-XI School District (2013–2021); Assistant Principal at Union Middle School and Clark-Vitt Elementary (2012–2013); K–6 Computers Teacher at Beaufort Elementary and Technology Coach for Union R-XI (2011–2012); and Middle School Math Teacher at Union Middle School (2007–2011). She began her teaching career as a Math and Reading Teacher at Owensville Middle School in the Gasconade County R-2 School District (2002–2007) and ultimately started her career in education as an office clerk at Union Middle School.
Dr. Lause earned her Master’s, Specialist, and Doctorate degrees from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The Board of Education worked in partnership with the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) throughout a comprehensive search process that included recruiting candidates, gathering input from district stakeholders, reviewing data, conducting interviews, and engaging in extensive discussion. Dr. Lause was selected from a pool of 24 applicants, the majority of whom held doctorate degrees and had experience as assistant, associate, or head superintendents.
Board President Brian Dugan shared,
“There were many qualified applicants and it was difficult to choose one. Ultimately, we believe Dr. Lause is the best fit for Grandview and will lead our district effectively for many years to come.”
Dr. Lause and her husband, Ben, have four children: Josie (24), Angelina (24), Emily (23), and Brady (20).
Dr. Lause expressed that she is extremely excited to join Eagle Nation and looks forward to working alongside students, staff, families, and the community to build on Grandview R-II’s strong foundation.
