During Thursday night’s meeting of the R-II Board of Education, an updated COVID-19 plan was unanimously approved. The new plan lowers the days a COVID positive student or staff member must isolate from school from 10 days to 5 days. The staff member or student may return to school on the 6th day and, as long as she/he is symptom-free, will not be required to wear a face mask. If she/he has COVID symptoms a facemask will be required for days 6 through 10. A copy of the plan can be found by following this link: https://5il.co/14le4

All Grandview buildings are now above the 2% threshold for COVID-19 positivity and, in following the approved COVID-19 plan, all students, staff, and visitors to all district buildings will be required to wear facemasks starting Friday, January 14. This requirement also extends to spectators of after school activities i.e. games and will continue until the positivity rate drops below 2%. At that time another message will be sent out to communicate that information.

Covid Virus
Grandview R-II School District administration has been alerted to a social media post on TikTok that appears to be a vague, generalized threat against all schools in the United States. The TikTok post threatens violence at schools on Friday, December 17. To our knowledge, NO students in the Grandview R-II School District were connected in this post.  These social media posts did not indicate a direct threat against any particular school district, nor is there any evidence that linked Grandview students to the social media activity. We take school safety and security issues seriously and we will continue to partner with districts and law enforcement entities to uncover all who are responsible. Please reinforce with your children that all threats, whether serious or not, are a crime and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as well as district policy. As you know, keeping our students and families safe is everyone’s responsibility, and we appreciate the support and cooperation of all of Eagle Nation.

Attention
We are currently on a district lockdown. An armed man was seen walking about a mile from school. This is only a precautionary measure at this time. Police have been informed. Students are still moving throughout the building and teachers are instructing as usual. We will keep you updated with any changes.
